Macallum Youth Finally Lose!!!!

Macallum Youth VS Riverside FC (14th Feb 2008) Scoreline : Macallum Youth 1 VS 2 Riverside FC

Today is a the first match for Macallum Youth after 2008’s Chinese New Year celebration . Everyone in the team was anxious to play the match . With the opponent , Riverside FC , arrived at the field earlier than Macallum Youth , it seem like they were also anxious and excited about the match . Macallum Youth faced a serious problem with Jason Leow couldn’t make it due to his match on Monday(15/02/08) plus L.Hua was unavailable due to injury . The match started well for Riverside FC with numerous of chances and open-goals , but they were unfruitful . Half way through the match , the referee stopped the match because a helicopter came out from nowhere and landed beside our field but resume the match after the helicopter left . Riverside was dangerous on both of Macallum Youth’s flanks and a couple of times , Macallum Youth could have drifted away but luckily for them , that Riverside was unlucky with their finishings . Macallum Youth managed to break the deadlock with a score from Kelvin . A weak shot by Macallum Youth’s striker could have easily saved by the goalkeeper , but he made a blunder . Kelvin was at the right place , he took the loose ball and dribbled pass the goalkeeper before slotting in the first goal . Macallum Youth was happy with the one-goal-lead but before long , Riverside attacked fiercely on the left . The striker received the ball from the left wing and gave a low shot passed the goalkeeper and scored an equaliser . Half time arrived with the scoreline , 1-1 . Second half started after a few minutes , and Riverside seem to be a better side . Macallum Youth couldn’t control their tempo and rhythm of the game and thus , it gave Riverside the adavantage of controlling the match and possession . Riverside second goal came from a corner kick . A corner kick was taken on the right . It was a real mess between players in Macallum Youth’s penalty box , before the striker took the ball and shot in the 2nd goal . The match went badly for Macallum Youth as they failed to equalise . At last , Macallum Youth tasted the first defeat after 2 months of unbeaten streak . It was a good lesson for each of the Macallum Youth’s player that they are not good enough to be the best youth team in Penang …. yet .
