Importent Game For Macallum Youth !!!

Scoreline : Macallum Youth 2 VS 1 Macallum Veteran(Stallion FC)

It was the first time for Macallum Youth to play a match on the evening . The match was planned to be played at 5.30pm , but somehow due to some inconvenients , the match was delayed until 6.00pm . Macallum Veteran(Stallion FC) was one the sworn rivals of the legendary Zing Ying . Hence , this match was important for each of every Macallum Youth’s player because it was more than winning or losing , it’s about dignity and honor . Macallum Youth was facing a much bigger trouble than winning the match . Both of the attacking wingers , Michael and Jason , were unavaible for this match . As a result , Macallum Youth couldn’t play with their best squad . As pressures pilling on them , Macallum Youth at least must settle with a draw because it was the first day of their new jerseys being worn by the players . The match started with advantages looked to side to the opponent . Macallum Youth faced a lot of threats on their ride side . The opponents held the most possession throughout the game . Although they did have beautiful chances but they were wasted away . First goal of the match came from Ah Khee . Kelvin took a cross from the left but the ball was too high for the strike to connect it . Luckily , Eugene was on the right side and he took the loose ball . As Eugene tried to dribble pass the defender , he cheekily gave a nutmeg to the defender and the ball reached for Ah Khee . Without much consideration , Ah Khee gave a thundering shot pass the goalkeeper . It was the first time Ah Khee scored after for so long , since the beginning of December . As the match went on with the opponent looked more fierce on their style of playing . Several of the Macallum Youth players were knocked down by the opponent and some unfair incidents were waved away by the referee . On the second half of the first period , Ah Boon intercepted the opponent’s pass and gave a nice through ball for Kelvin . Kelvin was all by himself and there was nothing he could do , except to dribble the defender . Kelvin managed to bang his way through the defender and slotted in the ball pass the on-charging goalkeeper , Macallum Youth was 2 goals up . Few minutes before half time , the referee awarded the opponent corner kick . As the ball flew into the box , there was a mess-up between the defenders and the strikers and thus , the ball bounced out . One of the midfielders of the opponent gave a beautiful volley to the loose ball and he managed to lob it beautifully over the goalkeeper . As half time approaching ,the injured T.Poh was forced to leave the field for Ah Hao who was formerly Zing Ying’s star . Half time arrived with the scoreline 2-1 . After a few minutes of rest , the referee signalled the second half to be played . For the first time in Macallum Youth’s history , they were fully pressed by the opponent for most of the time of the second half . A few times , the opponent seem to equalise the game , or maybe over-turn the scoreboard , but somehow each of the Macallum Youth’s players didn’t give up but gave out their best of the best . At the 2nd half of the final set , W.Loon was too exhausted to go on , hence he substituted out Ah Yam(Macallum Youth Reserve) . After a long brave fighting spirits , at last the referee blew the final whistle to signal the end of the match . Each of the Macallum Youth’s players celebrated it as if they won the final ! Although it was only a friendly match , but it was a good lesson day for them . They have learnt that scoring is not everything and they also learnt that they need to support each other regardless wheter at the good time or bad time but everytime . This match was really precious for each one of them , but it was only the beginning ……
